Hello all!

Today marks the last day of the first week of Fall 2014 (unless you have class on Fridays). We hope you all got the classes you needed and are enjoying your professors and classmates.

This Monday, October 6th, 2014 we will be having our first general meeting of the Fall quarter. It will be from 3:15-4:30 PM at the U-SU Los Angeles Room. We will have free refreshments, so don't forget to show up! Hope to see you all there!

The end of summer is fast approaching and that means the fall quarter will begin soon.  The new board has been busy planning fun and engaging activities for the upcoming year.  More details coming soon.

Meeting today!

Our meeting today, April 21 will be from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the Alhambra Room 305 in the Student Union. We've got a lot of interesting topics that we plan to cover.

We are also looking for volunteers for our fundraiser tomorrow and Wednesday. If you are available to sign up, please click here and sign up for a shift.

Introduction from Benjamin from Papermache.

Papermache is a beta program designed to help connect undergrad work through an interactive academic site. Social cloud storage of your research papers that help curate professional resumes with your actual work. Further your curiosity, spend more time on message content. Upload your graded papers and share them with other academics. Special features include automatic citation, comment sections and academic credit to those from whom citations are drawn from. "Better information on campus".

Graduation Ceremony updates:

White boards were passed out, templates will be emailed shortly. Please fill in the information and turn in no later than Friday, June 7th to our executive office located on the second floor of the Student University Union in the Student Organization Offices (Directly above Starbucks). On your board, paste an 8 X 10 professional photo and your completed template along with the 4 black corner markers.

Araceli pitches her "Senior Prank" idea:

To shed more positive attention to CSULA, LPE will spearhead a flash mob-like group on the metro from Chinatown to CSULA's campus with President Masks and positive quotes from various presidents throughout history building on the idea that CSULA has a new president. We would like to get 500+seniors involved.

4/15 Meeting Minutes

3:15- Meeting began:

• Graduation Packet was dispersed. Our grad ceremony will be held off campus to coordinate with CSULA's Graduation Banquet.
•  $30 per ticket, no limit on purchase while supplies last. 
• Happy Hour will be extended to 8pm for cocktail hour. Doors open at 6pm and ceremony will begin at 7pm.
• Ceremony will also be held for non-LPE members and tickets will be made available to them Beginning April 22nd.
• Volunteers are needed to help decorate.
• Graduation Ceremony Application Due: Monday, May 13th
• Photos: Every meeting we will be taking photos of members to include on Facebook and in graduation slideshow. Next meeting we will be posing with LPE letters in front of the CSULA sign.
• Please submit a photo of yourself and a brief description of your accomplishments to be placed on display during graduation banquet.

3:30- Upcoming Events:

• Proposed camping trip  during the 3rd week of May. Enough interest was shown to proceed with planning event. Site will be Crystal Cove in Laguna, price is roughly $20 also includes one meal and snack for a one night event. Space will be limited.
• USC Masters Program Information Night (Annenberg)- Please RSVP on Facebook, space is limited. April 29th at 6 pm.

• We are beginning the application process for the new board, please email sigmaphicsula@gmail.com to be placed on our emailing list. New board will assist in graduation ceremony to learn about the process.

CSULA Dodgers Night with LPE!

Mark your calendars, bring your friends & family! We had a very successful fundraiser with our Clipper's Night in the Fall and we are looking forward to our Spring fundraiser to be as equally successful to fund our senior graduation. 

Griffith Park Observatory Trails

Hike- March 2nd

We had a small turnout for our hike to the Griffith Observatory Trails this passed weekend but the team finished strong! Way to go LPE for building networks, being active members of the greater LA culture and for enjoying the day.

Mandatory Meeting!

Reminder: TODAY- March 4th @ 3:15 in our office on the 2nd floor of the Student University Union, Student Organization Offices.

We will be performing a grade check to ensure that we meet National standards of Lamba Pi Eta for our Sigma Phi Chapter. Due to unforeseen factors we need to perform this grade check immediately.

Hermit Falls Hike!

2/17/2013

Join us for our first LPE hike! We will meet Sunday, 2/17, at 10am at CSULA in front of the Luckman Theatre. We will be leaving at 10:30am- carpooling will be situated at that time. If you would rather meet us at the Chantry Flats please be there by 11am. Each car will need a $5 parking pass that can either be purchased online or in person. We will have LPE shirts available for purchase as well.

• bathing suit (if you want to jump in)
